STATE OF ORIGIN 2026

2027 STATE OF ORIGIN SERIES

State of Origin returns in 2027 for another blockbuster chapter in one of Australian sport’s greatest rivalries.

The 2026 series delivered everything Origin is famous for, with New South Wales reclaiming the shield in a thrilling 2–1 series victory over Queensland. After a dramatic 22–20 win in Game I, the Blues were blown away 44–24 by the Maroons at the MCG before producing a dominant 30–12 performance in the Suncorp Stadium decider.

Now attention turns to 2027, with the series set to make history as State of Origin heads across the Tasman for the very first time. Game II will be played at Auckland’s iconic Eden Park on Wednesday 16 June, joining Sydney and Brisbane as host cities for what promises to be another unforgettable series.
