The Championships

The grand finals of Australian racing, with over $20 million prize money on offer over two days, The Championships attracts the best-of-the-best of the racing world and is a feature of Sydney’s sporting and social calendar.

Day 1 is heralded by the $2 million Australian Derby along with the $3 million Doncaster Mile, the world’s richest mile handicap. 

The Championships Day 2, Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day, is heralded by the world’s richest 2000m turf race, the $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes which is considered the most prestigious weight-for-age event during the Carnival.
